SENIOR CENTER SUPPORT STAFF

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma/GED or equivalent. Possession of a valid driver’s license. Must be knowledgeable and sensitive to the needs of the elderly and adults with special needs. Certified in first-aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) preferred. Possess a valid driver’s license. Must meet Park Board employment and physical standards, which includes a background check as well as drug and alcohol screening. Experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and aptitude to perform the defined duties.

COMPENSATION: Part-time/hourly

REPORTS TO: Senior Center Coordinator

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Represents the Senior Center brand while greeting visitors and members.

Maintains responsibility for helping with the promotion, coordination, and implementation of approved senior center programs and activities.

Maintains professional internal and external relationships in keeping with CPRST core values.

Assists facility management in handling membership conflict resolution.

Coordinates and communicates with the Coordinator, senior citizens, volunteers, and other community organizations to assure that the center and project goals are achieved on a continuous basis.

Helps maintain a physical environment that conforms to senior center policies as related to safety and cleanliness.

Maintains persistent check of front desk money-handling standards to ensure standards are in keeping with CPRST Cash Handling Policy and Procedures.

Maintains persistent check of front desk service standards to assure standards are in keeping with Senior Center customer service guidelines.

Assumes supervisory responsibilities of the front desk staff in the event of the Senior Center Coordinator absence.

Assists the Senior Center Coordinator in overseeing the front desk operations.

Completes CPR and First Aide training.

Acts as a team member with other Parks and Recreation staff, embracing and supporting the vision and mission of the CPRST Board of Directors and the City of Cullman.

Assists the Senior Center Coordinator in maintaining all front desk office supplies, membership key fobs, day pass arm bands, new member files, pro-shop merchandise, staff shirts, and any other

items that relate to front desk operations.

Establishes and maintains sound business and financial procedures in accordance with Federal and State laws, and CPRST system policies.

Maintains professional internal and external relationships in keeping with CPRST core values.

Work hours may vary, which will include nights, weekends, and some holidays, with hours varying based on time of year, events, and projects.

Exhibits a high level of professionalism and ethics, working amicably with the Park Board, the Executive Director, Administrators, Personnel and Community.

Exhibits proficiency in written and oral communication.

Attends all meetings as required by supervisors.

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

This work area is well lighted, ventilated, and heated. Occasional work outdoors where there is a potential to be exposed to various weather conditions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work is performed both inside and outside and requires the physical and mental ability to operate a motor vehicle and computer. Must be able to routinely lift thirty pounds without assistance. Work also requires moderate lifting and the ability to walk, stand, bend, and sit while performing various job duties.


CONCESSION STAFF

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 16 years of age or older. High school diploma or GED equivalent (preferred). Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written form. A pleasant, friendly, and outgoing demeanor. Cash handling experience. Experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and aptitude to perform the defined duties. Must meet the City of Cullman’s employment and physical standards, which includes drug and alcohol testing.

COMPENSATION: Hourly

REPORTS TO: Food Service Manager

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides effective and efficient customer services and promotes and maintains responsive community relations.

Attends any in-service training and safety program for staff.

Attends cleaning training for food service facilities.

Helps maintain system-wide inventory as it relates to assigned facilities.

Assist Food Service Manager on the ordering process for food and related consumables.

Responsible for reviewing and following the cash handling policy for Cullman City Parks and Recreation.

Knowledgeable of basic mathematic skills, such as giving back correct change.

Responsible for using an iPad to total up orders.

Responsible for cooking food to correct internal temperatures.

May require travel between food service facilities: Heritage Park, Field of Miracles, Football (West Elementary), and/or Cullman Wellness and Aquatic Center.

Required to work at any Cullman Parks and Recreation food service facility when called upon.

Must follow facility dress code.

Must be available days, nights, and weekends with hours varying based on time of year, events, and projects.

Exhibits a high level of professionalism and ethics.

Exhibits proficiency in written and oral communication.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, or Athletic Director.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and Executive Director.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work is performed both inside and outside and requires the physical and mental ability to operate a motor vehicle, grounds maintenance equipment, and computer. Work also requires working around heights, heavy lifting, and the ability to climb, stand, bend, and sit while performing various job duties. Must be able to routinely lift 45 pounds of weight without assistance.
